The Ossila Automatic Film Applicator (L2009B1-AU) is a motorised coating system that moves your chosen applicator across a substrate at a programmed speed. It works with Mayer bars, blade coaters and gap applicators, as well as Sheen, Baker and Bird applicators, so different coating techniques can be explored on a single instrument.
Stage speed can be set anywhere from 0.05 mm.s -1 to 250 mm.s -1 in 0.01 mm.s -1 steps, letting users match the motion to the applicator and the viscosity of the solution for smooth, defect-free films. The system covers coating widths up to 225 mm over a 290 mm (A4) travel length, making it suitable for scaling up coatings on larger samples.
Two stage options are offered: an 8 mm toughened glass stage with a printed grid for quick sample alignment and easy cleaning, or an anodized aluminum vacuum stage that holds substrates, including flexible or foil substrates, firmly in place. A quick-lock magnetic design allows the stage and drip tray to be removed, swapped and cleaned between coatings.
