The Ossila Automatic Film Applicator (L2009B1-UK) is a motorised coating platform that moves your chosen applicator across the substrate at a programmed speed. It works with Mayer bars, blade coaters and gap applicators, as well as Sheen, Baker and Bird applicators, so one system can cover bar coating, doctor blade coating and related techniques.
Stage speed can be set anywhere from 0.05 mm.s -1 to 250 mm.s -1 in 0.01 mm.s -1 steps, letting you match the motion to the applicator and the viscosity of the solution for smooth, defect-free films. Coatings up to 225 mm wide can be produced over a 290 mm (A4) travel length.
Users can choose a glass stage of 8 mm toughened glass with a printed grid for quick sample alignment, or an anodized aluminum vacuum stage that holds flexible or foil substrates firmly in place. Both the stage and the drip tray attach with a quick-locking magnet, so they lift out easily for cleaning between runs.
