The Ossila Automatic Film Applicator (L2009C1-US) is a motorised coating system that moves your chosen applicator across a substrate at a programmed speed. It works with Mayer bars, blade coaters, gap applicators and Sheen, Baker or Bird applicators, making it a single platform for bar coating, doctor blade coating and related thin film techniques on samples up to A4.
Stage speed is adjustable from 0.05 mm.s -1 to 250 mm.s -1 in 0.01 mm.s -1 steps, so the movement can be matched to the applicator and the viscosity of the solution. Smooth, continuous travel helps produce uniform, defect-free coatings up to 225 mm wide over a 290 mm travel length, and programmed speeds keep results repeatable between runs.
Two stage options are offered: an 8 mm toughened glass stage with a printed grid for quick sample alignment and easy cleaning, or an anodized aluminum vacuum stage that holds flexible or foil substrates firmly in place. A magnetic quick-lock design lets the stage and drip tray be removed, swapped and cleaned between coatings.
