Ossila black phosphorus powder (CAS 7723-14-0) is a high purity 2D semiconductor material supplied as small needle- or sheet-like crystals. It is produced by chemical vapor distribution and offered in two packaging formats: vacuum sealed at ≥99.995% purity, or in an ampoule at ≥99.999% purity.
The powder is commonly liquid-exfoliated with the help of sonication to produce black phosphorus quantum dots (BPQDs) and nano-platelets. Its purity also makes it suitable as a precursor for chemical vapor deposition of high-quality, atomically thin films.
As a battery negative material, black phosphorus has a theoretical specific capacity roughly seven times that of graphite, so exfoliated powders and their composites can markedly enhance energy storage device performance. With a tunable bandgap of 0.3 eV ~ 1.5 eV, it is of interest for next-generation electronics, optoelectronics, nanotechnology and gas sensing.
- Preparation of black phosphorus quantum dots (BPQDs) by sonication-assisted liquid exfoliation.
- Production of black phosphorus nano-platelets for nanotechnology research.
- Chemical vapor deposition of high-quality, atomically thin films.
- Negative electrode materials and composites for next-generation batteries.
- Development of gas sensors, electronic and optoelectronic devices.
