This Ossila copper foil (S2011C1-25) is a high-purity, battery grade substrate intended for use as the current collector in lithium-ion anodes and other energy storage devices. This version has a single sided polish finish, a thickness of 15 µm and a sheet size of 148 x 210 mm, supplied as a pack of 25.
The copper content is above 99.9%, with iron, bismuth and lead held to trace levels. At 15 µm the foil offers a tensile strength of at least 330 MPa, a surface dyne value of 70 dyne/cm and a normal elongation of 3.3%. Choosing between thicknesses and polish finishes lets researchers trade off conductivity against energy density when designing cells.
Because the foil comes as pre-cut sheets rather than rolls, it can be used immediately from the bag, takes up little storage space and suits smaller benchtop bar-coating machines. Anode active materials such as carbon black and graphite powders are offered separately for coating the foil into electrodes.
- Current collector substrate for lithium-ion battery anodes.
- Base foil for coating anode active materials such as graphite or carbon black to fabricate electrodes.
- Comparative testing of foil specifications in cell design for conductivity and energy density.
- Electrode preparation on small benchtop bar-coating machines.
