Ethylammonium bromide (EABr, CAS 593-55-5) from Ossila is a high purity alkylammonium halide supplied as a precursor for perovskite research. With a purity of >99%, it is intended for groups developing perovskite solar cells, perovskite LEDs and other hybrid electronic devices.
Adding EABr to perovskite formulations lets researchers modify crystallite structure, steer how the film morphology develops and fine-tune the optical behaviour of the resulting material, all with the aim of raising device efficiency. It has been used to form layered perovskites of the type (EA)2(MA)n−1PbnBr3n+1; sky-blue light-emitting devices built on such layers reached a maximum EQE of 2.6% and a power efficiency of 1 lm/W at 100 cd/m2.
The compound, also known as ethylamine hydrobromide or ethanamine hydrobromide, has the formula C2H8BrN, a molecular weight of 125.99 g/mol and a melting point of 160 °C. It is supplied as powder/crystals.
- Precursor for preparing layered perovskite films for sky-blue perovskite light-emitting devices.
- Altering crystallite structure and film morphology of perovskite materials.
- Fine-tuning the optical properties of perovskite materials to improve hybrid device efficiency.
- Research on perovskite solar cells and perovskite LEDs.
- Studies on how organic cation size tunes the band gap of organolead bromide perovskite nanocrystals.
