The Ossila Glass Photoelectrochemical Cell with Water Bath (C2017E1) is a 100 ml borosilicate glass cell built for photoelectrochemical experiments where the sample temperature must be held steady or varied. An isolated water bath surrounds the cell, so the electrolyte can be thermostatted without contact with the circulating water.
Light enters through a JS2 quartz optical window, 29 mm in diameter and transmitting from 0.220 to 2.5 μm, held in place by a screw-on cap with a 24 mm centre hole. The transparent window also allows photocatalytic reactions to be watched in situ.
The cell has three electrode feedthroughs together with gas and water inlets and outlets, and it works with the Ossila electrode range. The package includes a gas bubbler, a Luggin capillary, screw-in adaptors for electrodes and gas lines, PTFE stoppers, 1m of PTFE tubing, PTFE tape and spare rubber O-rings.
- Photoelectrochemical measurements that need stable temperature control via the integrated water bath.
- Experiments run at variable temperatures to study temperature-dependent behaviour.
- In-situ observation of photocatalytic reactions through the quartz optical window.
- Three-electrode photoelectrochemical setups connected to a potentiostat.
