Ossila LATP (lithium aluminum titanium phosphate, CAS 120479-61-0) is a white ceramic powder used as a solid-state electrolyte in all-solid-state lithium batteries. Structurally it is the lithium counterpart of the sodium super ionic conductor (NASICON), with the formula Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3.
Doping lithium titanium phosphate (LTP) with aluminum raises its ionic conductivity by 3 to 4 orders of magnitude, placing LATP in the typical NASICON range of 10−4 to 10−3 S/cm. This batch is specified at 6.69 × 10−4 S/cm at 25°C by EIS, with a D50 particle size of 0.639 μm and a specific surface area of 14.47 m2/g. The material also offers good chemical stability and a high oxidation voltage of ca. 6 V.
For hybrid systems, LATP particles can be treated with coupling agents such as silanes to improve bonding with polymers, and quasi-solid-state electrolytes made this way have reached 3.01 × 10−3 S/cm.
- Solid-state electrolyte for all-solid-state lithium battery research.
- Ceramic filler in LATP/polymer composite and quasi-solid-state electrolytes.
- Silane-functionalized nanofiller for polymer matrices such as PVDF-HFP.
- Ceramic electrolyte component in bulk cathodes for all-solid-state batteries.
