NPB, also called NPD, is the triphenylamine compound N,N′-Di(1-naphthyl)-N,N′-diphenyl-(1,1′-biphenyl)-4,4′-diamine (CAS 123847-85-8). It is valued for its strong hole transport performance and is widely applied in OLEDs and in other organic electronic devices, including polymer photovoltaics and perovskite solar cells.
Its glass transition temperature of up to 95 °C helps keep thin-film morphology stable, which supports longer device lifetimes. This has made NPB one of the most commonly used materials in OLED fabrication. Beyond hole transport layers, it is also classified for hole-injection and electron-blocking layers and for OFET research.
Product code M361 is the sublimed grade, supplied as an off-white powder in 1 g and 5 g packs. Sublimation is a purification route for obtaining ultra-pure chemicals suited to vacuum-deposited device work.
