Ossila I101 is a ready-to-use perovskite precursor ink developed for spin coating perovskite solar cells under ambient, low-humidity conditions. It combines methyl ammonium iodide (MAI) and lead chloride (PbCl2) in a 3:1 ratio, dissolved in dimethyl formamide. On heating, the film converts to a methylammonium lead iodide perovskite containing trace chlorine, CH3NH3PbI3-xClx.
The ink works in both standard and inverted device architectures. Using Ossila's recipes, standard devices reached a peak PCE of 13.7% and inverted devices 13.1%. The resulting perovskite has an optical bandgap of 1.56 – 1.59 eV and photoluminescence emission at 770 – 780 nm.
Vials are filled in a glove box to protect quality. Following the supplied recipe, 5ml of solution can coat up to 160 substrates, equivalent to 1,280 devices on Ossila's 8-pixel substrate layout. The ink is offered as 10 x 0.5 ml or 3 x 10 ml sealed amber vials.
