PFN-Br, also known as PFN-bromide or PFNBr (CAS 889672-99-5), is a polyfluorene-based conjugated polymer electrolyte (CPE). Its structure combines a hydrophobic backbone with hydrophilic side chains, making it suitable as an electron-interface layer in organic electronic devices such as OFETs, OLEDs, organic photovoltaics (OPV) and perovskite solar cells, where it helps improve interfacial properties including charge extraction efficiency.
When incorporated as an interlayer in OPV devices, PFN-Br raises open-circuit voltage, short-circuit current density and fill factor, leading to better overall device performance. It has been used in highly efficient OPV tandem structures exceeding 17% efficiency. In polymer LEDs with bilayer cathodes such as PFN-Br/Al, its strongly polar ionic pendant groups are believed to allow performance comparable to, or even above, that of Ca or Ba cathodes.
This batch, M2230A4, has an Mw of 131 kDa, Mn of 42 kDa and a PDI of 3.1, and is offered in 100 mg, 250 mg and 500 mg packs.
