PFN-FP (CAS 673474-79-8) is a polyfluorene-based conjugated polyelectrolyte from Ossila, also known as PFN-B and related to PFN. Its main role is as an electron-interface (cathode interlayer) material in organic photovoltaic devices, including perovskite solar cells, where it helps raise charge extraction efficiency.
Beyond photovoltaics, the polymer also serves as an active-layer material in blue OLED devices. In film form it shows an absorption maximum at 398 nm, with a HOMO of -5.70 eV and a LUMO of -2.12 eV.
PFN-FP dissolves in polar solvents such as water and methanol when a small amount of acetic acid is added, allowing solution processing of interlayers. It is supplied under batch code M2078A1 in 100 mg, 250 mg and 500 mg packs.
- Electron-interface (cathode interlayer) material for improving extraction efficiency in OPV devices.
- Interlayer material in perovskite solar cells.
- Active-layer material for blue OLED devices.
- Solution-processed interface layers using polar solvents with a little acetic acid.
