Ossila sodium nickel iron manganese oxide powder (CAS 1307699-76-8), also known as NFM111 or NaNFM, is a layered transition metal oxide supplied as a black powder for use as a cathode active material in sodium ion batteries. It combines nickel, iron and manganese in an equal 1:1:1 ratio, and its layered framework allows sodium ions to move in and out of the structure as the cell is charged and discharged.
Each of the three metals contributes to cathode behaviour. Nickel provides capacity and raises the average working voltage. Iron also lifts the voltage and, through charge balance, lowers the share of Jahn-Teller active Mn 3+, which supports structural stability. Manganese in the Mn 4+ state further limits structural distortion.
The material shows good rate performance, giving a discharge capacity of 110 mAh/g at 10C at room temperature, with a first discharge capacity of 129.10 mAh/g at 0.1C. Particle size is 5.18 μm (D50), tap density is 1.72 g/cm3 and water content is 0.0146 wt%.
