Shape Memory Polymer MS2520 from Nanografi is a stimuli-responsive smart material supplied as a solution in DMF. Shape memory polymers (SMPs) can hold a programmed, temporary shape and then recover their original form when exposed to a suitable trigger. This dual-shape behaviour makes them useful in research and product development wherever a component needs to change shape on demand.
The solution has a residue content of 30% and a viscosity of 80,000 - 120,000 CPS at 25℃. Its mechanical behaviour differs sharply between its two states. In the glass region it reaches a tensile strength of 45 MPa with 40 - 60% elongation. In the rubber region it offers 12 MPa tensile strength, elongation above 400% and a 100% modulus of 1.5 MPa.
SMPs respond to stimuli such as heat, light, pH and moisture, and they have been studied widely in biomedicine and aerospace. They have also been used in textiles to add smart properties. The product is offered in 1 Liter, 5 liters, 10 liters and 20 liters packs.
