N-type silicon sputtering targets are solid source materials made from silicon doped with donor impurities to give n-type electrical conduction. In physical vapor deposition, the target is bombarded with energetic ions so that silicon atoms are ejected and deposited onto a substrate as a thin film. Silicon belongs to the group IV semiconductor materials and is widely used in electronics and photonics research.
