Strontium titanate (SrTiO3) is a perovskite oxide ceramic belonging to the family of complex metal oxides. Its perovskite structure allows its electrical and optical properties to be adjusted through doping and strain engineering. Sputtering targets made from this material serve as the source for physical vapor deposition, producing thin films used in oxide electronics and materials research. Because the target is a solid block, deposition is typically carried out under vacuum in a sputtering system.
