TCI C0113 3-Chloroaniline Hydrochloride (CAS 141-85-5) is the hydrochloride salt of 3-chloroaniline, supplied as a solid in 25 g and 500 g packs. Converting the liquid free base into a salt gives a material that is easier to weigh accurately and generally more convenient to store. The salt form is particularly suited to reactions run in acidic aqueous media, such as diazotisation, and can be neutralised to release the free base when required. It retains the hazard profile of chlorinated aromatic amines, so weigh it in a fume hood with gloves and eye protection and keep the container tightly closed against moisture.
