Description

TCI C0646 Cupferron is a classical analytical reagent, the ammonium salt of N-nitroso-N-phenylhydroxylamine, used to precipitate metal ions as insoluble chelates. In acidic media it shows useful selectivity toward metals such as iron, copper, titanium, zirconium, and vanadium, enabling their separation from other elements. Beyond gravimetric determination, the resulting chelates can be extracted into organic solvents for analyte pre-concentration. AMI Scientific supplies this TCI reagent in 25 g and 500 g packs; it should be stored cold, dry, and protected from light in accordance with the manufacturer's guidance.
