TCI C1183 Isopropyl Crotonate (CAS 6284-46-4) is an α,β-unsaturated ester derived from crotonic acid and isopropanol, making it a classic Michael acceptor. Its conjugated double bond supports conjugate additions, Diels–Alder cycloadditions as a dienophile, and radical addition chemistry. The branched isopropyl ester introduces moderate steric bulk, which is useful in selectivity studies and in polymerisation research. Available in 25 mL and 500 mL packs, it should be dispensed in a fume hood and stored cool, tightly closed, and away from heat, light, and radical initiators.
