TCI C1454 (-)-Citronellal (CAS 5949-05-3) is a chiral terpenoid aldehyde and a classic chiral pool starting material. Its aldehyde group, isolated alkene, and stereogenic centre make it ideal for stereocontrolled cyclisation chemistry, most notably the carbonyl-ene route to isopulegol. It is also widely used in terpenoid derivatisation, Lewis acid catalyst benchmarking, and flavour and fragrance research.
