This titanium carbide (TiC) micron powder from Nanografi has a purity of 99% and a particle size of 2-4 µm measured by FSSS (CAS No 12070-08-5). It is a hard, high-melting carbide used mainly to add wear and abrasion resistance to coatings, composites and sintered parts.
The powder contains ≥19% total carbon with free carbon held at ≤0.3%. Listed impurities are O 0.5%, N 0.4%, Fe 0.1%, Si 0.02% and Ca 0.02%.
Its micron-scale particle size supports controlled dispersion in resin systems, and it is compatible with high-temperature sintering. Although it conducts less than nano-scale TiC, it gives stable behaviour in bulk conductive polymers and ceramic-based energy components.
- Hard phase additive in wear-resistant coatings and metal matrix composites for cutting tools, dies and nozzles.
- Reinforcement in thermoset and thermoplastic composites needing mechanical strength, dimensional stability and wear resistance.
- Conductive pastes and coatings for EMI shielding and thermal management, and electrode reinforcement in high-temperature battery systems.
- Protective coatings for aerospace-grade alloys, ceramic armor and erosion-resistant turbine components.
- Surface treatments for surgical tools and orthopedic implants, and abrasion resistance in dental materials, under exploration.
