Tungsten disulfide (WS2) is a layered transition metal dichalcogenide, in which tungsten atoms are held between sulfur layers. This structure makes it one of the most widely studied two-dimensional materials. As a sputtering target, WS2 is used in physical vapor deposition (PVD) to form thin films for research and industrial coating development.
