Zinc (Zn) sputtering targets are solid metallic zinc pieces used as the source material in physical vapor deposition (sputtering). During sputtering, energetic ions bombard the target surface and eject zinc atoms that deposit onto a substrate as a thin film. As a metal target, zinc is widely used in research on coatings and functional thin films.
