Protein G

Protein G — includes recombinant Protein G and its conjugates with enzyme or biotin, namely bacterial surface proteins with high affinity for the Fc fragment of immunoglobulin G. This group is a key supporting tool in various antibody-based techniques in immunology and bioanalytical laboratories.

Protein G is used by immunology and biotechnology researchers for affinity purification of IgG antibodies from various species, detection in ELISA and Western blot via HRP conjugates, and antibody immobilization on surfaces via biotin conjugates in streptavidin-based systems. Its ability to bind a broader range of IgG subclasses than Protein A makes it the preferred choice in workflows involving mixed serum samples.
