2-[(4-Bromophenoxy)methyl]oxirane, also known as 4-bromophenyl glycidyl ether, pairs a strained epoxide with a brominated aromatic ring. Nucleophilic ring opening of the oxirane provides rapid access to beta-amino alcohols and related functionalised scaffolds. The aryl bromide remains available for subsequent palladium-catalysed cross-coupling, enabling orthogonal synthetic strategies. TCI supplies this building block in 5 g and 25 g sizes for research laboratory use.
