TCI B6742 2H-Benzo[e][1,3]oxazine-2,4(3H)-dione (CAS 2037-95-8), commonly known as isatoic anhydride, is a bicyclic heterocyclic building block. Reaction with amines opens the ring with loss of carbon dioxide to give anthranilamide derivatives directly, without a separate acid activation step. Those intermediates cyclise readily to quinazolin-4(3H)-ones, benzodiazepines, and related pharmaceutically relevant scaffolds.
