Description
TCI B6796 (CAS 107-43-7) is anhydrous betaine, also known as trimethylglycine, supplied for biochemical research. As a zwitterionic osmolyte and chemical chaperone, it supports protein folding and stabilises biological macromolecules under osmotic stress. It is widely used as a PCR additive to improve amplification of GC-rich templates. AMI Scientific offers this TCI reagent in 5 g and 25 g pack sizes; note that the material is hygroscopic and should be kept tightly closed.
