Description
TCI Chloroform stabilised with ethanol, spectrophotometry grade (CAS 67-66-3), is a halogenated solvent prepared for reliable UV-Vis measurement work. The ethanol stabiliser suppresses phosgene formation caused by light- and oxygen-driven decomposition, while the analytical grade keeps solvent background absorbance under control. It dissolves a broad range of non-polar to semi-polar organic compounds, making it suitable for liquid–liquid extraction, lipid work, chromatography and sample preparation, and is supplied in a 100 mL package. Chloroform is toxic by inhalation, so use it only in a fume hood with suitable gloves, protect it from light, and route waste through dedicated halogenated-solvent disposal.
