TCI C0472 Isopropyl Cyclohexanecarboxylate (CAS 6553-80-6) is the isopropyl ester of cyclohexanecarboxylic acid, supplied as a non-heterocyclic building block. Its bulkier ester group offers greater hydrolytic stability than smaller esters, which is useful when a carboxyl function must remain masked during multi-step synthesis. The saturated cyclohexyl framework also adds lipophilic, three-dimensional character to target molecules in structure–activity studies. Supplied in a 25 mL pack, it should be handled in a fume hood with appropriate PPE and stored cool, dry, and tightly closed away from ignition sources and strong oxidisers.
