TCI C0898 Vinyl Hexanoate (CAS 3050-69-9) is a short- to medium-chain vinyl ester stabilised with MEHQ. It is commonly used as an irreversible acyl donor in lipase-catalysed acylation and kinetic resolution, since the released vinyl alcohol tautomerises and prevents the reverse reaction. Its vinyl group also supports radical polymerisation and copolymerisation for polymer studies. Available from AMI Scientific in 25 mL and 500 mL sizes, it should be kept cool, dark, tightly closed, and away from heat and radical initiators.
