TCI C1030 Isopropyl Citrate, mixture (CAS 39413-05-3) consists of partially esterified isopropyl esters of citric acid supplied as a research-grade reagent. The remaining hydroxyl and carboxyl groups give the material useful metal-chelating behaviour, which is why citrate esters are studied as sequestrants and antioxidant synergists. Compared with free citric acid, the isopropyl ester groups add lipophilic character that changes its solubility profile in formulation work.
