3-Cyclohexyl-1-propanol (TCI C1166, CAS 1124-63-6) is a primary alcohol bearing a lipophilic cyclohexyl ring at the end of a short propyl chain. The primary hydroxyl is readily esterified, oxidised, or converted into a tosylate or mesylate for onward substitution chemistry. Its saturated ring makes it useful for tuning solubility and surface behaviour in derivatives, and as a clean model substrate for oxidation catalyst screening. Available in 5 mL, 25 mL, and 100 mL sizes, it should be used in a well-ventilated area and stored tightly closed, cool, and away from oxidizers and ignition sources.
