TCI C1261 4-Chloro-2-fluoronitrobenzene (CAS 700-37-8) is a highly electron-poor fluorinated building block designed for nucleophilic aromatic substitution chemistry. The ortho nitro group activates the fluorine as an excellent leaving group, allowing amines, alkoxides, and thiolates to react selectively while the chlorine remains available for later cross-coupling. Subsequent reduction of the nitro group gives substituted anilines that are widely used to construct benzimidazoles, benzoxazoles, and related fused heterocycles.
