Description
Guanidine Hydrochloride is the hydrochloride salt of guanidine and ranks among the most widely used chaotropic compounds in biochemistry laboratories, while also serving as an important material in perovskite solar cell research. In aqueous solution, the guanidinium cation is highly effective at disrupting the hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic interactions that stabilize protein structure. On the materials side, the guanidinium cation is larger than methylammonium, and for this reason it has been studied intensively as an additive and as a mixed cation for improving the stability of organic-inorganic perovskite thin films.
