Collection: Thiacalixarenes
Thiacalixarenes — macrocyclic sulfur-modified calixarenes, including tert-butyl, sulfonyl, and sulfo-substituted derivatives on the thiacalix[4]arene framework. This group of supramolecular compounds acts as hollow host molecules that can selectively bind metal cations as well as guest molecules.
Thiacalixarenes are used by supramolecular chemistry researchers to design selective metal ion receptors, chemical sensors, and complexing materials for metal extraction. Modification of functional groups on the upper or lower rim of the calixarene framework, such as sulfonation or esterification, allows tuning of affinity toward specific target ions or molecules.
Example products in this collection: TCI B2312 204190-49-8 4-tert-Butylsulfonylcalix[4]arene, TCI S0477 211561-04-5 4-Sulfothiacalix[4]arene Sodium Salt, TCI B2310 210706-03-9 4-tert-Butyl-1-(ethoxycarbonylmethoxy)thiacalix[4]arene, TCI B2296 182496-55-5 4-tert-Butylthiacalix[4]arene.
The choice of derivative is adjusted to the position and type of substituents (tert-butyl, sulfonyl, sulfo) that determine solubility, conformation, and the desired host-guest binding selectivity. All products are original Tokyo Chemical Industry (TCI) Japan products, with purity, packaging, and storage conditions listed on each item's page.
