The Joan Lab MC-4K is a compact benchtop mini centrifuge for fast, routine spin-downs of small sample tubes. It reaches up to 4000rpm, producing a maximum relative centrifugal force of 980xg, and its rotor holds sixteen 0.2ml tubes together with eight 1.5 / 2.0ml tubes, so PCR tubes and microtubes can be processed in the same run.
For safety, the rotor stops as soon as the lid is opened, and the unit runs quietly enough for shared bench space. It draws only 15W, measures 160*135*110 mm and weighs 0.8 kg, making it easy to keep beside the workstation where it is needed.
The MC-4K suits clinical and hospital laboratories for blood and serum separation, molecular biology and biotechnology work with DNA/RNA and cell pellets, pharmaceutical quality control, food and beverage testing, and university and research laboratories. It is the entry model of the series, alongside the MC-7K, MC-10K and MC-12K for higher speeds. The MC-4K comes with a 1-year warranty.
