Tetrahydro[3,3'-bifuran]-2,2',5,5'-tetrone (CAS 4534-73-0) is the cyclic dianhydride of butane-1,2,3,4-tetracarboxylic acid, carrying four carbonyl groups across two anhydride rings. Its high reactivity toward amines and hydroxyl groups makes it a valuable monomer for polyimides and polyester-imides, a curing agent for epoxy resins, and a crosslinker for cellulose fibres and material surfaces.
