Description
TCI B6870 (CAS 120737-78-2) is tert-butyl 2-methylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, a mono-Boc-protected piperazine bearing a methyl substituent at the 2-position. The protected nitrogen allows chemists to functionalise the remaining secondary amine selectively through alkylation, acylation, sulfonylation or reductive amination. The Boc group can subsequently be removed under acidic conditions to reveal the second nitrogen for further elaboration. Supplied by TCI in 5 g and 25 g pack sizes, it should be stored cool and dry and kept away from strong acids.
