Description
Carvacrol (TCI C0026, CAS 499-75-2) is a phenolic monoterpenoid found in the essential oils of oregano, thyme, and related Lamiaceae plants. It is widely used as an analytical reference standard for essential oil profiling and as a test compound in antimicrobial and antioxidant research. Its aromatic hydroxyl group also makes it a convenient starting material for esters, ethers, and other phenolic derivatives. Supplied in 25 g, 100 g, and 500 g sizes, it should be stored tightly closed in a cool, dark place and handled with gloves and eye protection.
