1,3,5-Cycloheptatriene (TCI C0572, CAS 544-25-2), also known as tropylidene, is a seven-membered cyclic hydrocarbon bearing three conjugated double bonds. It serves as a precursor to aromatic tropylium salts and as a polyhapto ligand in organometallic chemistry. Its conjugated triene system also supports cycloaddition and rearrangement studies in mechanistic research.
