TCI C0842 4-Hydroxybenzonitrile (CAS 767-00-0) is a para-substituted aromatic bearing both a phenolic hydroxyl and a nitrile group. The phenol is easily alkylated or acylated, while the nitrile can be transformed into amides, amines, tetrazoles, and other nitrogen heterocycles, making it a versatile two-way building block. It is widely applied in pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediates as well as in liquid crystal and conjugated materials research.
