TCI C0994 4-Chloro-3,5-dinitrobenzotrifluoride (CAS 393-75-9) is a highly activated aromatic building block bearing two nitro groups and one trifluoromethyl group on the same ring. This electronic arrangement makes the chlorine atom readily displaced by amines, thiols, phenols, and alkoxides under comparatively mild nucleophilic aromatic substitution conditions. The remaining nitro groups can be reduced further, giving convenient access to aromatic diamines and fused heterocyclic scaffolds for medicinal and agrochemical research. AMI Scientific offers this TCI reagent in 10 g and 25 g research packs, to be stored tightly closed in a cool, dry, and light-protected place.
