TCI C1380 (3-Chloropropyl)diphenylsulfonium Tetrafluoroborate (CAS 33462-80-5) is a sulfonium salt used as a precursor to reactive sulfonium ylides. Deprotonation generates a carbanion whose pendant chloropropyl chain enables intramolecular cyclisation toward cyclopropane and related small-ring frameworks. The tetrafluoroborate counterion provides good stability and solubility in polar aprotic solvents. AMI Scientific offers this TCI reagent in a 1 g pack; keep it dry and tightly closed.
