Collection: Cyclodextrins (for DDS)

Cyclodextrins (for DDS) — compiles cyclic oligosaccharides of beta- and alpha-cyclodextrin modified with amino, azide, tosylate, or methyl groups to expand the function of their hydrophobic cavity. This hollow structure allows the formation of inclusion complexes with small to medium-sized guest molecules.

Cyclodextrins for DDS are used by pharmaceutical researchers to increase the solubility and stability of poorly water-soluble drug compounds through encapsulation within their hydrophobic cavity, and also serve as anchor points for further conjugation via functional groups such as amino or azide. Derivatives such as mono-tosyl cyclodextrin also serve as synthetic intermediates toward targeted delivery systems or supramolecular nanoparticles.

Examples of products in this collection: TCI A3454 98169-85-8 6-Azido-6-deoxy-beta-cyclodextrin, TCI C0776 10016-20-3 alpha-Cyclodextrin, TCI A3453 29390-67-8 6-Amino-6-deoxy-beta-cyclodextrin, TCI C0777 7585-39-9 beta-Cyclodextrin, TCI A2122 121916-94-7 3A-Amino-3A-deoxy-(2AS,3AS)-alpha-cyclodextrin, TCI C0869 17465-86-0 gamma-Cyclodextrin, TCI T1094 55216-11-0 Trimethyl-beta-cyclodextrin, TCI H0979 128446-35-5 Hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin.

Pay attention to the cyclodextrin type (alpha, beta) along with the position and number of substitutions of its functional groups, as these determine cavity size, regioselectivity of subsequent reactions, and the isomer purity obtained. All products are genuine Tokyo Chemical Industry (TCI) Japan products, with purity, packaging, and storage conditions listed on the page of each item.
