Collection: Mitsunobu Reaction [Synthetic Reagents]
Mitsunobu Reaction [Synthetic Reagents] — contains pairs of azodicarboxylate/azo and trisubstituted phosphine reagents—such as DIAD, ADDP, azobis(dimethylformamide), tricyclohexylphosphine, and triphenylphosphine—that together form a redox system for the Mitsunobu reaction.
These reagents are used by synthetic organic chemists to activate alcohol hydroxyl groups into good leaving groups, enabling nucleophilic substitution with stereochemical inversion in the formation of ethers, esters, or C-N bonds in the synthesis of complex molecules and natural products. Variations of azodicarboxylate and phosphine allow adjustment of byproduct solubility so they are easier to separate during the purification step.
Example products in this collection: TCI A1458 10465-78-8 1,1'-Azobis(N,N-dimethylformamide), TCI B7082 3075704-21-8 [1,2-Bis(ethoxycarbonyl)hydrazineyl]triphenylphosphonium Trifluoromethanesulfonate, TCI A1246 2446-83-5 Diisopropyl Azodicarboxylate (40% in Toluene, ca. 1.9mol/L), TCI C1500 157141-27-0 Cyanomethylenetributylphosphorane, TCI A1051 10465-81-3 1,1'-(Azodicarbonyl)dipiperidine, TCI D1019 1605-53-4 Diethylphenylphosphine, TCI T1165 2622-14-2 Tricyclohexylphosphine (contains Tricyclohexylphosphine Oxide) (ca. 18% in Toluene, ca. 0.60mol/L), TCI D2411 6476-37-5 Dicyclohexylphenylphosphine.
Note the form of the reagent (pure solid or solution at a specific concentration in toluene), the ease of separating phosphine oxide/hydrazide byproducts, and the storage stability of the heat-sensitive azo reagents. All products are genuine products of Tokyo Chemical Industry (TCI) Japan, with purity, packaging, and storage conditions listed on each item's page.
