This substituted dibenzylidene sorbitol (DBS) derivative enhances crystallization kinetics by forming a nanofibrillar network within the polymer melt, resulting in improved optical clarity, higher crystallization temperatures, and reduced cycle times during processing. Beyond industrial polymer applications, the compound is also widely employed as a low-molecular-weight organogelator (LMOG) in supramolecular chemistry research, enabling the formation of physical gels in organic solvents for applications in smart materials, drug delivery, and tissue engineering scaffolds.
