TCI B6371, bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedionato)lead(II) (CAS 21319-43-7), commonly abbreviated Pb(TMHD)₂, is a sterically shielded β-diketonate complex used as a volatile, organic-soluble lead source. The bulky tert-butyl substituents improve thermal stability and volatility relative to simpler β-diketonates, which is precisely what vapour-phase deposition demands. It is applied primarily as a precursor in MOCVD/CVD and ALD processes for lead-containing thin films, including ferroelectric and piezoelectric oxide materials, as well as in solution-based precursor preparation.
