TCI B6911 (CAS 1765-26-0) is 2,2-bis(trifluoromethyl)-1,3-dioxolane, a fluorinated cyclic ether solvent. The two trifluoromethyl groups strongly reduce the basicity of the ether oxygens, giving solvation behaviour that differs markedly from conventional dioxolanes and ethers. Fluorinated ether solvents of this type are studied as specialised reaction media and as components in electrochemical and electrolyte research.
