Description

Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium Salt (TCI C0045, CAS 9004-32-4, n = approx. 500) is a water-soluble cellulose derivative widely used as a thickener, stabiliser, and polysaccharide substrate. Its carboxymethyl groups give the polymer good water dispersibility and controllable solution viscosity. Laboratories use it for cellulase activity assays, rheology studies, and gel or suspension formulation research. Supplied as a powder in 25 g and 500 g packs, it is hygroscopic and should be kept tightly closed in a cool, dry place, with prepared solutions stored chilled.
