N-Carbobenzoxy-L-glutamine (TCI C0574, CAS 2650-64-8), known as Z-Gln-OH, is a Cbz-protected L-glutamine used in controlled peptide chain assembly. The protecting group prevents unwanted side reactions during coupling and can later be cleaved by hydrogenolysis. Glutamine's amide side chain contributes significantly to the conformation and interactions of many biologically active peptides.
